Businesses were asked to shut their doors in accordance with Thanksgiving being declared a national holiday. Several churches around Dublin held an evening service to deliver a Thanksgiving sermon and pastors encouraged their members to attend.

TThe Sky-Tel Drive-In was showing several films. November 18 and 19 was an adults only film, Tenny Tulip; November 20 and 21, a double feature For a Few Dollars More starring Clint Eastwood and Impasse starring Burt Reynolds and Anne Francis in color; November 22, 23 and 24, Lost Flight starring Lloyd Bridges and Anne Francis. The Sky-Tel Drive-In opened at 6:30 and movies started at 7.
