Dear Editor,
My wife and I watched a very good show on Netflix called “Spotlight”.
It shows the depth and accuracy of professional journalism. The same thing was demonstrated with the watergate reporting.
Unfortunately with the prolific intentional misinformation on social media and the extreme political divide in our country we desperately need the truth, the thoroughness and accurate reporting of professional journalism.
Now we are so strongly divided politically that most national news is focused on politics and that is especially true of the political opinion episodes dominating 24 hour news services as well as talk radio.
We are losing the honest information a Democracy needs to exist. I am shocked at how bad this pushing and acceptance of misinformation has gotten.
We as a people need verified truth to remain free.
