Both Fernando Robledo Aguilar and Gracie Lane Yates have been indicted on charges stemming from vehicular manslaughter felonies.
Aguilar, 56, was indicted July 16 on collision involving death (Second Degree felony), manslaughter (Second Degree felony) and criminally negligent homicide (State Jail felony).
The indictments stem from a fatality crash that occurred on Hwy. 6 in Erath County April 30, 2026. According to the arrest affidavit, Aguilar failed to stop and render aid after a crash killing Holly Kaye Smith.
Aguilar, who is being held on an immigration detainer, had parked across the two southeast lanes of traffic, causing the crash.
In the report, Aguilar stated he did not render aid or call 911 because he was frightened because of his immigration status.
Yates, 19, was indicted on intoxication manslaughter (First Degree felony) and injury to a child (State Jail felony).
These indictments stem from a fatality DWI accident March 22, 2026, where Yates lost control of her vehicle and drove into a home on North Ollie in Stephenville, according to the arrest affidavit.
The crash killed Barbara Rocha and her son Alex Aaron Rocha, and injured her daughter Anna.
According to the DPS Crime Lab, Yates' blood alcohol level was 0.233, and she was traveling 73 mph on Washington Street before vaulting over a curb, through a fence into the house.
Other indictments from July 16 include: Carlos Juan Alvarado, 39, obstruction or retaliation (Third Degree felony); Cody Hunter Cavanaugh, 21, assault family violence with previous conviction (Third Degree felony); Fred Flores Chacon, 37, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence (Third Degree felony); Sebastian Facio, 35, criminal mischief $2,500 to $30,000 (State Jail felony); Steve William Melton, 51, theft $150,000 to $300,000 (First Degree felony); Angela Miroslav, 43, theft $2,500 to $30,000 (State Jail felony) and financial abuse of the elderly $2,500 to $30,000 (Third Degree felony) and Stanley Moses Skinner, 37, driving while intoxicated third or more (Third Degree felony).
