As Texas continues to experience rapid population and economic growth, Tarleton State is strategically expanding its academic portfolio to prepare graduates for emerging workforce needs across healthcare, technology, agriculture, infrastructure and behavioral health.
Since 2019, Tarleton State has received approval for more than 42 new academic programs, growing its academic portfolio to 91 bachelor’s degrees and 52 master’s and doctoral degrees.
Recent approvals through the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) include programs in artificial intelligence and machine learning, neuroscience, civil engineering and school mental health counseling, helping prepare workforceready graduates for highdemand industries.
Supporting the university’s continued academic growth, the Division of Health Sciences is building a comprehensive, interprofessional model for healthcare education.
The addition of Doctor of Occupational Therapy, Doctor of Physical Therapy, and Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Medicine programs helps address workforce shortages and improve healthcare access in rural and underserved communities across Texas.
