With the new digital sign officially up and running in Dublin’s Corner Lot, official guidelines are now in place on how to get information submitted for the new sign.
The sign which is located at the corner of Patrick and Blackjack Streets downtown in the Corner Lot, was paid for through the Dublin Economic Development Corporation and designed to inform the community of upcoming events.
Anyone wanting to place something on the sign must send information to chamberdirector@dublintxchamber.com.
“If they have a flyer with graphics, we will try to use it,” said Corner Lot organizer Donna Hightower. The simpler a flyer can be, the more easily it can be read. “We will consider whether the text is readable. Submissions must include all information on standardsize paper,” Hightower said.
The chamber will then forward all community events that have been gathered over to Hightower to put them on the sign.
Submission requests must be sent to the Chamber by noon on Friday for the next week.
The new submissions will be placed on the sign by Monday.
Late submissions will be accommodated when possible, however, placement in the current rotation cannot be guaranteed.
“Of course, in an emergency, we will work hard to post the information on the sign, if we know about the situation,” Hightower said.
As a reader of the newspaper, she stated she will pull information about meetings and events that concern the community as best she can.
“We ask that the sign content remains clean, positive and community focused,” Hightower said.
Content should support local businesses, community events, public information and appropriate announcements.
Community events—such as business-sponsored events or specific, community-based church events like Vacation Bible School, or school events— are great.
Sales or discounts for businesses will not be posted.
Emergency or public information will be posted as needed.
The sign is not intended for ongoing church promotion, weekly service schedules, or political campaign advertising for a candidate, party or group. Content that does not align with community standards will not be posted.
The Dublin Corner Lot reserves the right to approve all content to ensure it aligns with community standards.
