Lady Cards top tourney, ranked sixth in state

The state-ranked Lingleville Lady Cardinals claimed the top spot in the Dublin Tournament Saturday, Aug. 30 after winning all four games.

Following this appearance and a 3-0 win to Richland Springs and a 0-3 loss to Lipan (both on Aug. 26), the Lady Cards were sitting sixth in state for 1A with a record of 11- 4.

Head Lingleville volleyball coach Brandon Haught praised Jazmin Martinez and Dylan Gibson as players of the week “Jazmin stepped up in the tournament and played in a position she does not normally play, and Dylan played excellent in her first week of play this season,” he said. “We are starting to look really strong.”
