GRANBURY
GOOD. Water stained; 50 degrees; 0.10 feet below pool. Winter finally arrived in North Texas. Water temperatures are falling into the upper 40s to low 50s. If you do venture out, make sure you are prepared for the weather. If you see dead or dying fish please call the 24-hour Communication Center for TPWD immediately, 512-389-4848, or report to the Brazos River Authority. The colder weather will bring on the bite for striped and white bass on many areas of the lake. The colder water will push much of the baitfish to the deeper areas. Small striped bass and sand bass numbers are good on the lower ends on soft plastics 3-5 inch swimbaits or flukes. Bigger striped and white bass are staging midlake. Colder weather will bring on the bite for the big blues and yellow catfish on the upper ends using cut shad. Crappie are being caught on small jigs and minnows mid-lake near structure and in the river near Tin Top. Largemouth bass are still good near main lake points and in the river near laydowns on soft plastics worked slowly.
POSSUM KINGDOM GOOD. Water stained; 54 degrees; 0.04 feet below pool. Striper are fair to slow. Live bait is consistently putting fish in the boat each trip. Look for them in 20-40 feet of water. Stay on the trolling motor and keep moving. The fish are constantly moving and you should be moving too. This big weather change could be what’s needed to send them into a winter pattern and kick off deadstick season. Sand bass are fair. Look for them in 20-30 feet of water. Use live shad or small slabs and jigs. White and silver are good colors, but white seems to be preferred. Catfish are still fair to good. Fish up the river near Rock Creek Camp.Cutshadisproducing good numbers of fish in 5-20 feet of water fished on or near the bottom. The water temp has dropped slightly to 52-58 due to the cold front and may drop even lower before the weekend. Water clarity is steady at 1-8 feet of visibility and slightly stained
