(UPDATE) Charges made in mill fire
Dublin Police has reported that two male juveniles were charged in connection with the Nov. 19 fire at the old peanut mill at 325 N. Post Oak.
The arrest was announced in a release by the Dublin Police Department. The release reported the fire was reported at 6:52 p.m. on Nov. 19, prompting the response of multiple fire agencies to extinguish the flames.
Dublin police officers reportedly entered the building after the fire was extinguished and found evidence that led them to believe the fire had been intentionally set.
This evidence and interviews conducted by officers first on the scene led Dublin PD to suspect two juvenile male subjects of starting the fire.
Further investigation and interviews of the suspects led to reported probable cause for the juveniles to be charged with arson.
Arson is a second degree felony. Dublin PD reported the case is being forwarded to the Erath County Juvenile Probation Department and the Erath County Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
