Construction cones and signs from Texas Department of Transportation have popped up on many roadways in Erath County as the state is working on or beginning work on roads.
According to representatives from TxDOT, work is underway on a project to install illumination lighting at intersections along the US 67/377 corridor from U.S. 281 in Stephenville to Business 67 in Dublin.
Cable barriers will also be installed from CR 380 to Business 67 in Dublin.
The project is estimated for completion in the spring of 2024.
“While no long-term lane closures are scheduled as part of this project, drivers should use caution and obey all warning signs within the work zone,” Public Information Officer Bethany Kurtz said. “These safety enhancements will help prevent cross-over collisions and improve visibility and driver awa reness of intersections.”
The cost of the project is estimated to be $1.1 million and is 11.2 miles in length.
A resurfacing roadway project in Stephenville is also taking place on State Hwy. 108 from Farm-to-Market 2303 to Washington Street.
The $3.6 million project is estimated to be complete in November.
On Highway 6 towards Hico, there will be the construction of new roadway lanes from farmto- market 847 to County Road 303.
The $10.2 million project is an estimated 5.859 miles of work and is scheduled to be completed in May.
