100 years

Jan. 14, 1921

The public was invited to the White Crest Flour Demonstration being held at the Dublin Music Co. on January 13, 14 and 15. A free lunch was provided and two sacks of White Crest Flour were given away each afternoon – a 48 lb bag and 24 lb bag.

75 years

Jan. 11, 1946

The Majestic was playing several films. Friday’s feature was And There Were None; Saturday’s Matinee and Night show was a Roy Rogers flick called Along the Navajo Trail; Sunday and Monday played The Love of Ours with Merle Oberon and Charles Korvin; Tuesday and Wednesday was a double feature of Steppin in Society and Saddle Serenade; Thursday and Friday’s film was Northwest Mounted Police starring Gary Cooper, Madeline Carrol and Paulette Goddard.

50 years

Jan. 14, 1971

18 year old, Suzanne Gibson was named the Area IV Young Homemakers Outstanding Little Sister. Dublin Young Homemakers name Gibson Outstanding Little Sister in June and carried the title to the Area Young Homemaker Convention in September. She represented the area in Fort Worth at the state convention on January 15.

25 years

Jan. 11, 1996

Several Dublin students claimed top spots at the Erath County Livestock Show. Cody Griggers won grand champion market swine; Adam Moyer’s and Brandon Moyer’s took grand champion and reserve champion in dairy; Ealon Scott won grand champion in breeding beef; Brett Fails won grand champion steer and his brother Brad placed as reserve champion for his steer. Craig Barker won showmanship in the breeding swine category.
