The Woman’s Thursday Club met at the Dublin Historical Museum Thursday, April 13.

Now boasting 19 members, 15 of those ladies were present with speaker Ben Pate and special guest Lanora Davidson also attending.

With several activities going on locally Fran Jurney called the meeting quickly to order.

Continuing the study of Erath County history, Ben showed a number of his own pictures as well giving an outstanding history of Trinity Episcopal Church.

There has been a good bit of work done on the church recently and he reported on that renovation as the members again studied the excellent pictures. The church looks much the same as it did when worship first began there.

The second part of this tour included more of Ben’s photos as well as some by Orion Gallagher, resident of the “Sears and Roebuck” house on Patrick Street. Many details of then and now were featured.

This Dublin conversation piece was given much detail through the photos and information from Ben, Lanora and others familiar with this landmark. Being invited into both these beautiful cornerstones in our community made for a lovely afternoon.

As the business meeting got underway, Judith Lemons read the minutes as Judy Lunsford followed the treasurer’s report. In discussing finances, the club was fully funded to give a scholarship this spring but sadly there were no applicants.

As the funding of the Bluebonnet Books was discussed and transpired, money was collected for the remainder of series and the excess to let Library Director Adina Dunn put that to use in the general library. Funding the Bluebonnet books is an annual project for this group.

Paper goods for CWJC were collected and hygiene bags for the food pantry at the First Methodist Church. This drive will continue as the club ends its year in May.

Everyone commented again on the wonderful job Wyndi Veigel did in covering the anniversary gala.

Before adjourning to enjoy birthday cake from the anniversary celebration, it was announced that our final meeting will take place at the Dublin Public Library with Peggy Tolboom discussing pollination and featuring the butterfly garden.
