Thursday Club learns about Ben Hogan

Body

The Dublin Woman’s Thursday Club kicked off their 125th year of programs on Thursday, Oct.13 at the Ben Hogan Museum.

Continuing with the study of Erath County History, Karen Wright, curator of the museum, gave an intimate biography of Mr. Hogan, the man, only touching on his career.

Mr. Hogan overcame many obstacles that the people around him did not believe he could do. With amazing photographs, wonderful memorabilia and a vast, deep knowledge of Mr. Hogan’s life, Karen outdid herself on delivering a fascinating account of one of Dublin’s favorite sons.

Delicious Halloween refreshments were served by hostesses DJ Klutts and Neva Smith. They also presented Karen with a gift at the end of the program.

A business meeting was held with the treasurer’s report as the focus. Various other “first of the year” questions were straightened out.

There were nine members present. The meeting adjourned at 5:38 p.m.
