The Dublin Woman’s Thursday Club met in the Dublin Historical Museum Jan. 11.

President Fran Jurney wished everyone a Happy New Year as she called the meeting to order.

Following the Club Collect, Judith Lemons called roll with 11 members present and eight absent, then proceeded to read the minutes of the Dec.14 meeting. Those minutes were accepted as read and the president moved on to old business.

The treasurer’s report was given by Judy Lunsford and accepted. Projects the group has previously undertaken were discussed for future participation.

Continuing to provide goods to the CWJC, support for Bluebonnet Books for the Dublin Public Library and hosting the Miss Dublin Tea will all be on the coming agenda.

The 126th anniversary is right around the corner in March and a discussion of programs in the coming study cycle all had a turn on the floor.

There was a long discussion regarding volunteer hours. The position of Engineer got a good discussion.

This person would create a method for members to keep an accurate accounting of volunteer hours and money spent on projects, dues and donations.

A motion to create the position of Engineer in the officers passed. The new officers for the 202426 were approved with the engineer added.

Thank you letters from Goodfellows, FMC Food Pantry and CWJC were all read regarding the December donations.

With business managed, the meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.

Barbara Poplin will host the February meeting with a history of Rufus Higginbotham as the program.
