A recent survey by EDsmart.org, a nationally recognized publisher of college resources and rankings, names Tarleton State University to the organization’s Top 20 list of best online colleges and universities.

The list, which is headed by Texas A&M University, contains only fully accredited schools in Texas that offer both face to face and online learning. Rankings are based on affordability, student satisfaction, student outcome and salary after attending, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

“It’s wonderful to be recognized among the top two schools in the A&M system and top 20 in the state for our online programs,” said Dr. Credence Baker, Dean of Tarleton’s College of Graduate Studies, which houses Tarleton Online. “The same faculty who teach our traditional face-to-face courses teach online as well, and I think that is a major reason the online student experience is so exceptional at Tarleton.”

All evaluated data was gathered from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, U.S. Department of Higher Education, school websites and other reputable sources.

“As online degrees become more prevalent, it is important to recognize the colleges and universities that go above and beyond,” said Tyson Stevens, managing editor of EDsmart. “Our goal is to highlight these schools and their commitment to higher education.”

The rankings have been published at https://www.edsmart.org/accredited-online-colleges/texas/.

Tarleton features 13 online completion degrees at the undergraduate level and 14 fully online programs at the graduate level.
