Tarleton hosts Dublin Rippers

The second Annual Quilt Show at Tarleton features the Dublin Rippers Quilts and wall hangings by the Dublin Rippers quilting group are on display through Aug. 9, 2019, at The Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Gallery at Tarleton State University, Stephenville, Texas.

Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. An artists’ reception is planned for Wednesday, July 2 from 4 p.m. to 6 pm.

The Dublin Rippers group began meeting weekly in 2000.

The membership has changed over the years, but the group still meets to sew, solve life’s problems, and support each other through happy and sad times.

Members Donna Timmons and Hazel Ashcraft have found joy in making quilts for family members, and solace in making quilts from the clothing of loved ones who have passed on.

Peggy DeLaVergne quilts her amazement for the continent of Africa, where human life originated.

Sonja Banister has a quilt for every holiday. Her hand-embellished creations are for sale on

Suzann Thompson, a longtime crocheter, adds crocheted flowers and doilies to her wall hangings. The quilt display will draw you in from afar with color and pattern. Be sure to come closer and closer yet, to see the button, the bead, the perfect meeting of corners, the little detail, that will fill you with delight.
