St. Pat’s offers 3 days of fun

St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, and the Dublin Chamber of Commerce is bringing the luck of the Irish into town to celebrate March 16-18.

The event will officially kick off Thursday, March 16 with a couple of events.

Lucky Vines and Lucky Brewery will be offering green beer and wine from 4-8 p.m. at their winery location at 675 CR 497.

The Little Miss Dublin pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 16 at Dublin Intermediate.

On Friday, March 17, St. Patrick’s Day will roll in its green fanfare with live Celtic music and harpist Christine Anderson at Things Celtic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is being sponsored by Things Celtic.

From 1-4 p.m. there will be a Dublin Royalty Social celebrating 60 years of Dublin Pageant winners at Grafton Center (112B. S. Grafton Street).

Lucky Vines and Lucky Brewery will be offering green wine and beer from 1-8 p.m. at their winery location.

The Miss Dublin and Junior Miss Dublin Ambassadors Pageant will be held at Dublin Intermediate.

On Saturday, March 18 more St. Patrick’s Day fun will be held both in downtown Dublin and the Dublin City Park.

From 6-6:45 a.m. there will be a sign-up for the Shamrock Shuffle 5K, sponsored by Titan Fitness, at the Dublin Public Library.

The Shamrock Shuffle officially kicks off at 7:30 a.m.

Registration for the event is $30 for adults and $20 for those 10 and under. T-shirts were only guaranteed for those who registered before March 1.

Early packet pick-up will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, March 17 at Titan Fitness (125 S. Patrick).

Awards will be given for the top three male and female finishers in each age division. There will also be awards given to the overall male and female.

The Dublin Market Days season will officially kick off Saturday at Wright Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The parade line-up will begin at 9 a.m. with the St. Patrick’s Day Festival Parade starting at 10 a.m. with a flurry of green and gold.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anderson will again offer Celtic music inside Things Celtic.

From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. there will be more than 40 food and merchant vendors in the Dublin City Park along with alcohol sales.

The Dublin’s D&D Rockin’ Rods Car Shows (Sponsored by CCMC and AG360) will be held on Elm Street in downtown from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. At 2 p.m. car show awards will be presented by Miss Dublin.

There will be an Irish Costume Contest for pets and people at the Dublin City Park from 11-11:30 a. m.

The Irish Stew Cook-off Judging will take place at noon in City Park.

The announcing of the Queen’s Court with a chance to meet your new ambassadors will occur at the city park from noon to 12:30 p.m.

There will be a little leprechaun contest from 1-1:30 p.m. at the Dublin City Park, followed up with Cow Patty Bingo at the city park, at 1:30 p. m.

From 1-3 p.m. there will be music by Tynwald on the U.S. Sand and Gravel Stage at Dublin City Park.

A best beard competition will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the City Park.

From 3-5 p.m. Jared Malone will perform the bagpipes on the U.S. Sand and Gravel Stage at Dublin City Park.

At 4:30 p.m. the announcement of the Irish Stew winners, the contest winners and the Rodeo Heritage Museum’s Decorated Shamrock Contest winner will be announced at the city park.

The Piper Jones Band will perform from 5-7 p.m. on the U.S. Sand and Gravel Stage at Dublin City Park.
