Rodeo Heritage Celebration approaches

Body

An exciting time is on the horizon for the Dublin Rodeo Heritage Museum and for the citizens of Dublin as a 20th anniversary celebration is planned Saturday, Sept. 2.

Though the event is not until September, some deadlines for the event are quickly approaching.

During the event, there will be branding inside the Rodeo Heritage Museum where local brands may be burned into a section of wall. Registration is $50 per brand.

Citizens also have the opportunity to experience their moment as a cowboy by branding the Lightning C on cedar with a brass plate as a take home souvenir for $25.

During the event, the 2021 and 2022 honorees will be inducted into the Honor and Memorial Walk with a free $500 paver. However, those wanting to put their own impact on Rodeo Heritage through the Rodeo Heritage Museum can donate funds for their family, ranch or business that will be announced alongside with the honorees. Pavers start at $100 for brick size and continue to $5,000 for the largest size.

Deadline for these portions of the event is Saturday, Aug. 19.

Also as part of the anniversary celebration, the Dublin Rodeo Heritage Museum is partnering with the Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council to have a Country and Western Themed Photography Contest.

All photos must be country and western themed photos and all ages are welcome. Photo entries can be no larger than 16” by 20”, must be family friendly and are subject to board discretion. Entry fees are $10 and photographers may enter two photos.

All submissions must be dropped off at Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council at 148 West College Street in Stephenville by 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26.

Awards will be presented at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2 at 113 East Blackjack, preceding a public reception from 1-4 p.m. Cash awards will be presented including $100 for first place, $75 for second place and $50 for third place.

Vendors are also invited to take part in the festivities on Sept. 2 and there are booth spaces at the museum or the Grist Mill. Vendor entry fee is $40 and they may enter by calling 254-445-0200 Wednesday-Saturday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
