A person was arrested after making threats at multiple Stephenville businesses, ultimately ending after a vehicle pursuit.
Ricky George Byrd was arrested on charges of terroristic threat, evading in a vehicle and a variety of warrants.
According to information released by Stephenville PD, at approximately 2:34 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, SPD began receiving reports of a male subject entering multiple businesses in the city and making threats.
SPD officers immediately responded to the area and began actively searching for the suspect. Officer located the subject driving a pickup truck shortly thereafter, however, Byrd failed to comply with law enforcement commands, resulting in a vehicle pursuit. When the pursuit came by Allsup’s in Dublin on Hwy. 377, Dublin officers joined the pursuit.
The pursuit continued into Comanche County, where officers were ultimately able to bring the incident to a safe conclusion. He was taken into custody after a Taser deployment by Dublin PD.
SPD offered their thanks to assisting agencies for their support and coordination during the incident.
