Aug. 7
There was a welfare concern in the 100 block of East May for an elderly female sitting on her walker out in the sun for a long period of time. Officer checked on her, and everything was OK.
Aug. 8
A reporting person advised there were two young females on Grafton Street that hang out at an abandoned house and she has seen them go in with bags and stay for long periods of time. Officer made contact with a female, she has permission to keep her dogs there but is not living there. Code enforcement was notified.
Aug. 9
There was a report of some medical disposal sacks in the roadway in the 200 block of East May. She advised she saw some kids playing with them and was concerned there might be needles in them. Officer located the sacks, they were empty and then disposed of.
There was a report of two people arguing at Prime metal. They were separated.
Aug. 10
A reporting person stated that there was someone in a field with a flashlight between Grafton and May Street. Officer made contact and it was the property owner cleaning up as advised from code enforcement.
There was a report of a truck and dump trailer abandoned halfway in the road on FM 847. Officer made contact with the registered owner and they advised it was broken down and would be moved soon.
A reporting person requested an officer due to a family argument.
Aug. 11
There was a small child calling 911 in the 600 block Myrtle. An officer arrived on scene, spoke with the parents and they stated that he was upset over a toy they didn’t buy.
There was a subject passed out behind the steering wheel of a pickup at Dairy Queen. Officers arrived to wake him up and three open containers of alcohol was found. Officers performed a field sobriety test and Felix Cortes was arrested for DWI.
Aug. 12
A reporting person in the 700 block of Sheehan stated an intoxicated subject walked into his house. The caller knew the subject and gave him 30 minutes to find a ride, but no one came. Adrian Rodriguez was arrested for public intoxication.
A reporting person expressed concern about the motorized bike that is being ridden around town, expressing that it almost caused a collision with the caller recently. Also stated they ride around town at odd times of the night. Officer made contact with the individual that rides the bike to ensure safe driving was taking place. The individual stated that it was.
Aug. 13
There was a report of several goats out on the roadway across from the high school.
