The Lone Star Iris Society will meet February 4, 2023, 12 noon at the True Vine Fellowship Church, 18040 N US Hwy 281, Hico, Texas 76457.

Our program will be presented by Bonnie Nichols and will be all about Novelty irises. The Novelty Iris Society (NIS), a section of the American Iris Society, was organized in 2014 and accepted by the AIS as a section club in May 2015.

It was formed by a group of iris enthusiasts who love the unusual forms and color combinations of the space-age, broken color and variegated foliage. Novelty Iris Society – American Iris Society ( irises. org) Bonnie has held various positions in Region 17 of the American Iris Society.

She is also the President of the Novelty Iris Society Section. Bonnieisan Emeritus Judge for the American Iris Society and an Exhibition/ Garden Judge for the American Hemerocallis Society.

She will be bringing a beautiful slideshow of many beautiful novelty irises and sharing her expertise in iris culture. Bonnie and her husband have an iris and commercial garden in Mesquite and maintain a home garden as well.

They both are iris and daylily hybridizers. Visitors are always welcome to attend our meetings. Refreshments will be served.
