Lingleville runners place well, high at State race
Lingleville sent three cross country runners to State competition at Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park.
Jilt DeBoer finished 18th out of 147 runners, claiming the third best time of any 1A freshman boy in the state.
“This young man has a very high ceiling and I can’t wait to see what the next three years have in store,” said Athletic Director Davin Schulz.
Carlos Moreno placed 62nd in the state out of 147 runners. Schulz described Moreno as “the hardest working young man I have ever coached.”
Ilse DeBoer claimed 73rd in the state out of 150 runners.
This is the second year she qualified for State in cross country and was also in the track team that qualified for State last year.
“Ilse is the most talented female athlete that I have ever coached,” Schulz said.
