Dublin Elementary students and their families once again showed their support of their neighbors in need by gathering more than 1,000 items during the annual food drive.

On Friday, these items were loaded (with the assistance of many eager Dublin students) by Dublin Goodfellows and volunteers on to a trailer for delivery to the First United Methodist Food Pantry.

These items will go towards helping nourish Dublin families through the holiday season and yearround.

The FUMC food pantry provides pre-prepared boxes of food that are assembled to provide plenty of nutrition and satisfy hunger. These are available to Dublin residents who are only asked to provide a photo ID and proof of residency (such as a piece of mail). FUMC is able to provide this service through donations and the assistance of community partnrers like the school, Goodfellows and Brookshire Brothers.

The church can be reached at 630 Highland Avenue and by calling 445-2157.
