It was multiple hands on deck Monday, Feb. 5 when a Jeep impacted a Lay’s truck off Hwy. 67 near Prime.

According to information released by the Texas Department of Public Safety, the preliminary investigation indicates that a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2023 Volvo 18-wheeler towing a trailer were both traveling south on U.S. 67.

The Jeep was driven by Lawson Nichols, 23, of Dublin and the 18-wheeler was driven by Malcom Hooper, 52, of Lancaster.

According to the report, the 18-wheeler slowed to make a right turn into a driveway and the driver of the Jeep failed to control their speed and the Jeep impacted the side of the 18- wheeler.

Nichols suffered minor injuries in the crash and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
