Groups slinging snow cones for causes
Dublin community and school groups have a cool new way to earn funds thanks to the Dublin Athletic Booster Club.
Throughout the summer, the DABC has set up a snow cone stand next to Stone’s Auto with a different team or program running it every week.
According to Keith Riley, the DABC purchases syrups, cups and other accessories, which are provided to the groups working the stand. Seventy-five percent of the sales go towards whichever group is running the stand at that time while 25 percent go back to the DABC for the cost of supplies.
A wide variety of flavors are available to customers including standard fruit flavors, special mixes and even Dublin Bottling Works flavors.
Riley said the stand is typically open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The DABC plans to keep this arrangement through the summer and use the stand at away events through the school year.
The stand is currently open for any group that would like to sell the treats and keep 75 percent of the sales. For more information, call Keith Riley at 485-1026.
