A pawsitively perfect grooming solution just recently opened in Dublin – Hound Town Grooming Spaw.
The business recently opened in Dublin and is owned by young entrepreneur Kynlee Winkelman.
The “spaw” is located at 112F S. Grafton Street, behind Grafton Center, however, it is most easily accessible from the alley, showcasing glass double doors.
Winkelman is a 2022 graduate of Weatherford High School and got her love of grooming animals through her local FFA chapter.
“I showed pigs and sheep but what I really loved was being able to groom them,” she said.
This love led her to being taught how to professionally groom dogs and to open her own business – on top of going to college for agriculture business.
Winkelman admits it is a little scary opening her own business at the age of 18 but it has been extremely rewarding so far.
“I couldn’t have done this without the support of my family and friends,” she said.
The “spaw” offers a variety of services including a full groom, de-sheds, full baths, full haircuts, toenail trims, flea baths and much more.
The business also has its own doggie mascot – a cowdog heeler named Cinch – that Winkelman rescued through Operation Kindness in Carrollton.
One and a half year old, Cinch enjoys playing and getting the “zoomies” out before bedtime. He tolerates a weekly bath.
Winkelman said she has been welcomed wholeheartedly by Dublin and has had a pretty busy schedule the first week she was in business.
“Dublin has been a very welcoming community,” she said.
When she isn’t up to her elbows in suds and schoolwork, she enjoys baking, relaxing, enjoying the outdoors, crafting and of course, playing with Cinch.
The “spaw” is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and closed from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays for Winkelman to attend a college class.
For those interested in setting up an appointment or getting a price quote, call or text the “spaw” at 254403-9696.
Those dropping off dogs may want to park on Elm near Dublin Bottling Works and walk down the alley to the glass doors due to construction.
