BROWNWOOD
GOOD. Water slightly stained; 72-76 degrees; 6.67 feet below pool. The bass have moved to a summer pattern. Black bass to 9.57 pounds are good on glide baits, jigs, crankbaits and shaky heads in 4-18 feet of water. Crappie are good around the lake on jigs in 8-14 feet of water on minnows around the docks. White bass are fair, scattered around the lake and in the lights on crankbaits, jigs and minnows. Catfish are good to 35 pounds on cut gizzard shad near the flats using jugs.
GRANBURY
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 1.63 feet below pool. Striped bass to 15 pounds are possible using live bait on the lower ends. Sand bass action is fair to good on slabs from Indian Harbor to Decordova subdivision. Largemouth bass are good on crankbaits, spinner baits and soft plastics worked near main lake points and creek entrances. Large yellow and blue catfish continue to be caught on cut bait from the 377 bridge north to Hunter Park. Crappie action is good on submerged timber and deeper docks using small jigs and minnows. Striped bass continue to be good throughout the reservoir along channel ledges and near flats using swimbaits, umbrella-rigs and live bait.
POSSUM KINGDOM
GOOD. Water clear; 75-78 degrees; 5.45 feet below pool. Striped bass fishing is on fire. Live bait is the preferred bait, but a few can be caught trolling artificial baits. Look for fish in 10-50 feet of water, but be aware they are moving and not hanging around long. Sand bass are fair in 2-25 feet of water casting small jigs and rattletraps in shallow water early in the morning seems to produce the most fish. Catfish are fair in 20-40 feet of water using cut or small live shad. They are gearing up to spawn. Water clarity is 5-15 feet, depending on locationfeet depending on location.
PROCTOR
SLOW. Water stained; 72 degrees; 9.95 feet below pool. Sand bass and hybrids are good trolling crankbaits across points.
WEATHERFORD
SLOW. Water stained; 75 degrees; 7.16 feet below pool. Shad are spawning along the banks. Catfish are spawning shallow biting on cut bait. Bass can be caught shallow chasing the shad using chatterbaits and some topwaters. Crappie are fair along the rocks with minnows jigs.
WHITNEY
GREAT. Water lightly stained; 69 degrees; 5.02 feet below pool. Striped bass limits continue to be the norm and are best on live shiners and shad. Report by Michael Acosta, Unfair Advantage Charters. Striped bass are great throughout the reservoir on or near flats and near channel edges casting or trolling swimbaits, umbrella-rigs or live shad.
