Parents and DISD students (7th through seniors) are encouraged to go to dublinisd. us to fill out a survey on how they feel about the district potentially switching to a four day school week.

The survey will be open through Friday, Dec. 16 and a staff survey has already been completed.

“We are just exploring this as an option right now,” Summers said at the Monday, Dec. 12 school board meeting.

In the staff survey, 68% were in favor of a four day week, 14% were not in favor and 18% were undecided.

The superintendent explained that comments in the staff survey gave them a lot to think about.

“I appreciate the feedback so much!” she said. After surveys are received, a committee – including both working and non-working parents – will be formed to further investigate what is needed in regards to a four-day week, if that’s the direction the district decides to go.

“We want to give staff and parents enough time to prepare if we make this change,” she said.
