EDC approves grants, elects president

Several grants were approved at the recent meeting of the Dublin Economic Development Corporation and revisions on the new home grant were unanimously approved.

At the Tuesday, March 26 meeting, Paul Bradberry was unanimously elected as president of the board.

The board also put a new home grant into play for the EDC. On any new site built home, owners can apply for a $2,500 grant on custom built home and a builder can apply for the grant on a speculative home for $2,500. All grants must be applied for after the home is complete and they are only available on new construction.

The board also approved a $1,215 community improvement grant-event expansion for the Dublin Chamber of Commerce. The grant was to reimburse the chamber on St. Patrick’s Day Festival event advertising in DFW.

A $7,500 Commercial Grant was approved for building owner Ben Pate for the location at corner of Patrick and Blackjack. The money was used for new concrete and plumbing for the ongoing renovation project.

A $7,500 Commercial Grant was approved for Blanca Lopez for her business All About You. The money helped with construction materials for the building.

A Commercial Grant for Gorditas Durango for $731.25 was approved for the business’ new signage.

EDC Director Penny Corona also discussed that sales tax revenues were down for the month of December 2023.

EDC meetings are held in the Blackjack Office Center’s board room on the fourth Tuesday at 6 p.m.
