EDC approves grants

The Dublin Economic Development Corp. directors met in regular session recently to approve several grants.

The board approved a grant for $2,500 to help fund the Imagination Library at the Dublin Public Library. The program, which the DEDC has helped fund for several years, provides free books to Dublin children.

The board also approved a $250 marketing grant for the Dublin Band Boosters to help promote the high school marching band competition expected to bring at least 1,000 people to Dublin on Oct. 2.

The board approved $3,000 grants for Sarah McCann, 357 W. Blackjack, JoEllyn Turner, 642 N. Patrick, and Mark Ellis, 314 S. Park, for residential improvements.

The board also approved two commercial building improvement grants for Mr. Ellis for properties at 104 S. Patrick for $1,650 and 112 W. Blackjack for $4,646.25.

The board also approved the 2021-2022 budget which will go to the Dublin City Council for final approval.
