What a great day to be a Dublin Lion! We are off to another great start for the 2nd Six weeks of the 20222023 school year. We will have Saturday school on October 8th. As a reminder for parents and students, Saturday school is an opportunity to get caught up on work if you were absent or have gotten behind. Please note that student’s will not have school on October 10th (staff development) or October 31st (student/ teacher holiday).
Our Dublin Lions celebrated Homecoming this past week with a big football win over Florence, 34-23. Thank you to everyone who attended the Community Pep Rally on Friday. Congratulations to our Homecoming King and Queen, Cesar Solano and Isabella Chacon. It was such a special evening, and we are so thankful for all who could be in attendance to celebrate and support our students.
Seniors recently attended a College Fair at Stephenville High School which provided the opportunity to talk to numerous colleges. Next Monday, October 3rd, Dublin High School will be hosting a FAFSA Night for all Seniors and Dual Credit students at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria. Representatives from Tarleton’s TRIO program will be on site to assist parents in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA).
Dublin High School has several important upcoming dates pertaining to College and Career Readiness. The SAT and PSAT will be administered in October for students who registered earlier this month. The SAT and ACT will be administered on campus in the spring as well. Registration and dates for the Spring tests will be announced at a later date.
The Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA) will be offered on October 31st and November 21st. Students must pass this test or be exempted from it by their EOC scores in order to be considered “college ready”. These requirements apply to both dual credit students and first time college freshmen. Students interested in registering for either TSI test date should email Mrs. Hubbard, the high school counselor, at hhubbard@dublinisd.net.
On October 24th, there will be a Dual Credit Parent/Student Meeting in the cafeteria at 6:00pm. Mrs. Hubbard will provide information about Dual Credit (Ranger College updates, expectations, etc.) and answer any questions. All students and parents interested in taking Dual Credit in the spring should attend. The deadline to register with Mrs. Hubbard for Dual Credit courses for the spring semester is November 18th. Ranger College’s online application deadline for spring is December 1st.
¡Qué gran día para ser un León de Dublín! Hemos tenido otro gran comienzo para las segundas seis semanas del año escolar 2022-2023. Tendremos la escuela del sábado el 8 de octubre. Como recordatorio para padres y estudiantes, la escuela de los sábados es una oportunidad para ponerse al día con el trabajo si estuvo ausente o se atrasó. Tenga en cuenta que los estudiantes no tendrán clases el 10 de octubre (adiestramiento para el personal escolar) o el 31 de octubre (día festivo para estudiantes y maestros).

Los estudiantes del último año asistieron recientemente a una Feria Universitaria en la Escuela Secundaria de Stephenville que brindó la oportunidad de hablar con numerosas universidades. El próximo lunes 3 de octubre, Dublin High School organizará una noche de FAFSA para todos los estudiantes de último año y de doble crédito a las 6:00 p. m. en la cafetería. Representantes del programa TRIO de Tarleton estarán presentes para ayudar a los padres a completar la Solicitud Gratuita de Ayuda Federal para Estudiantes (FAFSA) y la Solicitud de Ayuda Financiera Estatal de Texas (TASFA).
Dublin High School tiene varias fechas próximas importantes relacionadas con la preparación universitaria y profesional. El 24 de octubre, habrá una reunión de padres/ estudiantes de doble crédito en la cafetería a las 6:00 p. m. La Sra.
