Dublin dreaming of a bright Christmas
Dublin’s Christmas celebration will be a little brighter this year because the annual event has been moved from Thursday night to the daytime of Saturday on Dec. 8.
As always, the celebration will kick-off with the parade dubbed the “Hello Santa” Parade this year.
Entries will start lining up at 9 a.m. at the Memorial Stadium Parking Lot, with entry fees set as donations to either Dublin Goodfellows of the Dublin Senior Citizens Center. The parade will disembark at 10 a.m., turning on Travis and heading downtown.
Special to this year’s procession is an appearance by the Senior Citizen Center’s line dancing group, who will perform at the intersection of Patrick and Blackjack.
For more information about the parade, contact Rhonda Williams at 445-3331 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Santa will be part of the parade and get off downtown so he can hear Christmas wishes on the Corner Lot immediately following the parade. He will also be appearing at Dublin Bottling Works for “Sodas with Santa” from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m. (For information or reservations, call 445-3939.)
The Christmas crowd is also invited to check out Dublin’s downtown businesses after the parade with several holding specials and drawings for gift cards during the day. The Dublin Farmer’s Market will also be held at Wright Historical Park that day, from 8 a.m. to noon.
There will also be plenty of Christmas fun at Celebration Park next to Old Doc’s Soda Shop with live entertainment following the parade. There will be activities for the kids from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., including a workshop for children to make special Christmas gifts and get them wrapped.
