Double N Cowboy Church is celebrating its 20th birthday in a big way with a full weekend of competition and fun June 27-28.
The fun starts at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 27 with a .22 Pistol competition. Categories include revolver, open sight semi auto, red dot and a fun shoot for anyone wanting to try. Entry fees are $10 per class with payouts offered to the top spots (50% for first place, 30% for second and 20% for third).
Kids can enjoy some summer fun with inflatable water slides from 10 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Also starting at 10 a.m. in the Double N Arena will be 5D Barrell Races. (Exhibitions will run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with races starting at noon.) Exhibition are $5 each or 4 for $15. Entry into the race is $40 with 100% payout for the winners.
The action returns to the arena at 5 p.m. with team roping. The event is a 10 x 10 California style round robin, 3HD. Entry is $250 per roper (cash only) with a 60% payout. (Books are now open through June 27 at 4 p.m. Text Kristie at (760) 219-8545 to enter.)
The Saturday festivities end with a family dance from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. as the Layne Golden Band returns to entertain.
Concessions will be open throughout Saturday.
Sunday will kick off with the worship service at 10 a.m. followed by a lunch provided at 11:15 a.m.
A tug of war competition for five person teams will follow at 12:30 p.m. Entry fees are $5 per team and the competition is tournament style with the best of three pulls advancing.
Immediately following the tug of war will be an ATV/UTV Rodeo with competition in three divisions: Youth, 12 and under and stock lawn mower open. Entry is $10 per event with each division jackpotted separately.
