Double crowns

T he Shamrocks and Shenanigans St. Patrick’s celebration kicked off Thursday and Friday with the selection of 2019 royalty during the annual ambassador pageants.

Miss Dublin will be shared by two ambassadors for the coming year who are splitting the title and the scholarship: Cameron Davidson and Layla Wing. Davidson is the daughter of Chad and Johanna Davidson and was sponsored by Dovetail Kennels. Wing is the daughter of Clay and Lidia Wing and was sponsored by Voodoo Athletics.

Junior Miss Dublin selections started off the pageants on Friday.

Junior Miss Dublin for 2019 is Emma Vargas, daughter of Junior and Patricia Vargas, who was sponsored by VarCo Construction and Remodeling.

First runner-up was claimed by Sydney Master, daughter of Melisa Master and Melissa Fain, who was sponsored by Shana Crouch Dairy.

Second runner-up went to Nicole Foster, daughter of Shannon and Nick Foster, who was sponsored by Mary Kay Cosmetics.

Little Miss Dublin for the coming year is Addison Pratt, daughter of Cojack and Alison Martinez and Kenneth and Barbra Pratt.

First runner-up went to Abigail Ratliff, daughter of Tara Ratliff and Eric Caldera. Second runner-up was Charlotte Meador, daughter of Kenneth and Danielle Meador.

Thursday night saw crowds flock to the Dublin School Cafeteria for the Little Miss Dublin Pageant. Judges faced a difficult decision with 18 contestants vying for the crown, provided, as always, by Golden Butterfly (who also furnished tiara for Junior Miss and Miss Dublin).

Following walks across the stage and questioning by host Tim Turnbeaugh, judges picked the 2019 court.

During the events, it was announced that the most tickets were sold by Little Miss candidate Abigail Ratliff and Junior Miss contestants Bailee Smith and Bailey Watson.

Pageants were organized by Emily Gray-Mandala with her coordinating team: Mayra Hagood, Claire Cook and Madison Petranella. The pageant volunteer staff included: Kim Stone, Tanna Tidmore, Jesslea Johnson and Luanne Schexnider.

Sashes for the events were sponsored by B&H Custom Crafts.
