On Friday, Jan. 19 and Saturday, Jan. 20, the Sound of Dublin band had three members in the region 7 Association of Texas Small School Bands HS all region band and 6 students in the region 7 ATSSB MS south zone all region band. Performing in the Region 7 high school band were: David Nava, Alma Holguin, Jayden Rojas. Performing in the middle school band were: Keighly Lewis, Jonny Enhorabuena, Jayden Balvantin, Yitzell Solis, Kimila Gonzales, Angel Palomino.
The clinic and concerts were held at Tarleton State University.
Dublin ISD head band director Ronny Luedke had this to say about the weekend’s events: The HS bands rehearsed Friday evening from 4-9:30pm with a break for dinner, then again all day Saturday and performed their concerts at 3:30pm.
The MS bands rehearsed all day Saturday and performed their concerts beginning at 6:00pm.
Each band performed 4-5 pieces of music each at their respective concerts, with just a short amount of time to put it all together! Making the all region band is a high honor for our students. They audition late November early December to try and earn a spot in one of the bands, with some instrument sections having as many as 50 that audition!
The kids all had a great time and were able to learn from some great directors.
