The Erath Chapter of Disabled American Veterans is looking for help in finding a new home as the donated office it has been using (408 E. Road in Stephenville) is up for sale.

The DAV organization ensures veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits they deserve, provide care and support during tough times, advocate for the veteran community on Capitol Hill, connect veterans with meaningful employment more. The Erath office also provides a shuttle service between its Stephenville office and veteran medical centers in Temple, Waco and Brownwood.

Although DAV Chapter 234 serves many of Erath’s 7,500 veterans and has a membership of 245, Chapter Commander Gary Youney said its needs for office and parking space are modest.

“All we need is room enough for a desk and a few chairs,” Youney said. “We are in there periodically.”

“Our current building has not been sold and we selfishly hope it takes a while longer,” Youney said. If there is a person or organization who can assist the group with its need, they can contact Youney at aa5qt@aol.com.
