On May 28-30 the officers of the Bosque River Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) attended the 135th annual convention of the organization in Ft. Worth. From left is, Judith D'Amico, Cindy Rhodes, Melinda Schuck, Mary Curtis, Carol Dismukes and Theresia Derrick. They were joined by 437 members, guests and Children of the Republic of Texas members. A highlight for the Bosque River Chapter was receiving a Six Star Chapter award which was awarded for such things as donating a Texas flag, giving programs to other organizations, donating cards with the Pledge to the Flag of Texas, and sponsoring a Children of the Republic of Texas chapter. Another highlight was the award to the chapter registrar for increasing chapter membership by 10%. Chapter members live in Somervell, Comanche, Erath, and Bosque Counties.
