Transformation Pathway (CWJC/CMJC) volunteers were thoroughly appreciated at a volunteer luncheon held Friday, Aug. 11 at The Station.

Volunteers were greeted with hugs, thanks and a delicious pulled pork luncheon with a plethora of desserts.

“This luncheon is just to show support to the community, without the people involved and volunteers we wouldn’t be able to accomplish our goals,” CWJC Board President Elisa Tiscareno said. “We want to show you a little bit about what CWJC has been up to this year.”

Executive Director Juanita Brawley introduced workers and volunteers at the store praising their efforts as well as teachers who have worked countless hours teaching classes.

Brawley shared the story of a person given five talents and how they turned it into 10, stating her thanks to the volunteers for sharing their talents.

State CWJC consultant Chris Rowley spoke about the origins of the organization which has 168 sites across the U.S. Rowley said continual re-evaluation is needed to make sure an organization is meeting the needs of its community and serving it well.

“Volunteers are our most important asset,” she said. Thank, you, thank you, thank you!”

One of CWJC’s new board members said that the volunteers are heart of the community and that they cannot accomplish their goals without them.

A silent auction fundraiser was also announced to benefit the ministry. It will be held Nov. 4 at The Station.

The luncheon ended with a drawing for door prizes in appreciation for the volunteers’ hard work.
