Whether stocking up for hunting season or practicing with a firearm or bow, Cowboy Capital Ventures aims to be a goto outdoor sports destination.
The business (located off the Dublin Loop on Hwy. 67) offers a variety of opportunities fit for a marksman or hunter’s haven.
“We’ve tried to capture every discipline that we can,” owner of Cowboy Capital Ventures Jake Beyer said.
For those interested in shotgun hunting and training, there are sporting clays and five stands. There is also a 300-yard rifle range and six tactical/three-gun arena for pistol shooting. On the ranges, there are precision targets such as bullseyes, AR550 reactive metal targets, and in the bays there are reactive targets along with cardboard targets similar to what is used in competition.
Archery doesn’t get left out either with a 100-yard archery range.
Currently, they are also building a pavilion to be used as a live venue as well as shade when awards are given out for tournaments or for lunches when practices are taking place.
Inside the establishment, there is also an FFL gun store with related merchandise including ammo.
Towards the front of the business will be a section for hunting and camping and the establishment will also sell hunting and fishing licenses.
“We really are trying to have something for everyone,” Beyer said.
A separate building also contains the gunsmith and archery store.
Costs are $40 for a full day at the range, with $60 for tactical.
“We don’t care if you come shoot, and then go get something to eat, explore Dublin and come back,” Beyer said. “The cost is for a full day.”
As soon as lighting is in place, CCV will be offering weekly night shoots. In the fall and spring, they will be opening up doors to events, tournaments, contests with several different disciplines.
“Being here in the area, I just wondered why someone hasn’t done something better in this industry?” Beyer said about opening the business. “Everyone I’m around is in this at least at a hobby level. Why not do something where we can shoot our bows, and then go shoot shotguns, and then if we have time, we can shoot a couple of targets with our rifles. It came into what we have here.”
Beyer is assisted by General Manager Dillion Baker and about 30 employees for the business.
CCV will be offering training in every discipline, including LTC and advanced training.
“We have several acquaintances that have verbally committed into coming from the outside to offer additional trainings,” Beyer said.
CCV can also offer guided hunting opportunities such as waterfowl or hog hunting locally.
“We want to bring back to the community what we can,” Beyer said.
Beyer hopes the business will be busy in the summer and spring with training sessions to benefit their customers.
For those wanting to stop by to check out Cowboy Capital Ventures, their grand opening will take place Saturday, Sept. 19 with the ranges open all day until 5 p.m.
There will be a 100-bird sporting main ($80 per person), 4-man flurry ($25 per person) and multiple awards up for grabs on the establishment’s Inaugural Fun Shoot.
After the ranges close, live music will begin around 5:15 p.m. along with family-friendly activities such as bounce houses, food, vendors and more.
