Growth and pre-application meetings filled the Feb. 12 Erath County Commissioners Court agenda.

Subdivision coordinator Jason Gardner updated the commissioners on several projects taking place in the county through preapplication meetings. All preapplication meetings are a start to any new Subdivision or rural development project.

A preliminary plan for Creeks Edge Cottages on CR 258 was presented.

A preliminary plan for Cedar Point RV was presented. The 6.53 acre tract of land is located at 14565 FM 2481 in Bluff Dale.

A preliminary plan for M5 Container Homes on 10.28 acres located at the corner of Hwy. 67 and 2481 was presented.

A preliminary plan for a mobile home park off CR 461 was presented.

All of the projects range from cabins, RVs and mobile homes for single families, however, they can also accommodate students.

A public hearing was set for a revision of Erath County Subdivision Rules, which will be held at next week’s meeting.

The court unanimously approved modifying the performance bond requirements listed in the subdivision and rural development regulations. Currently, the subdivision guidelines state that there has to be three commissioners on site, which Gardner said is a concern since it could violate Open Meetings Act guidelines for a quorum.

Gardner recommended changing it to himself or County Engineer Joe England along with a commissioner from the precinct where the project is taking place.

Commissioners unanimously approved the formal presentation of plan for Creek’s Edge Cottages in Precinct 1.

The court unanimously approved a resolution for a bullet resistant shield grant for the sheriff’s department.

Precinct 1 will be getting a new mini excavator after approval for purchasing the equipment was given.

Sealed bids were opened for the new Precinct 2 Maintenance Barn near Dublin. One bid was $450,000 from Lance Brooks and $406,000 from Tommy Ruderer. The bid will be awarded at the next commissioner’s court meeting.

In other business the court: ■ approved a copier lease with Kirbo’s for the Human Resource office at $45 a month plus the cost of any copies that are made.

■ approved a law enforcement grant (SB22) for fiscal year 2024

■ approved line item transfers

■ approved the treasurer’s report
