The county is seeking a new emergency management coordinator after Cyndi Smith was terminated Jan. 3.
According to County Judge Brandon Huckabee, he will be handling business that may arise for the position in the interim and the county does plan to hire someone to fill the position.
Smith had been Erath County Emergency Management Coordinator since Aug. 2, 2021.
“I have enjoyed serving the residents of Erath County in being prepared for emergencies and assisting residents during the wildfires and COVID,” Smith said. “I hope the residents will continue to be served with information on being prepared and training will continue to be brought to Erath County for the first responders and residents.”
