The community came together in full force for a fundraiser for Rachel Maddry, a dedicated volunteer and board member for the Dublin Baseball Softball Association who is currently fighting cancer.

A meal of street tacos, aqua fresca and desserts was served Monday night amidst youth baseball and softball games, raising $1,121 for Maddry and her family.

Donations for the event came from the following: Loyalty Insurance - Ruthie Rodriguez, Gordita’s Durango - Blanca Lopez, Dublin Livestock Sale, Blue Sky Farms - Ryan Dewitt, Erica Gomez Realtor, Rancho Viejo Venue - Chino Rodriguez, Cara Blanca Carniceria, Mi Cocina - Belen y Gerardo and DeAnna Turley along with Sandra Espinosa, Hilda Lopez, Elena Luna, Leonor Flores and Anna Monreal who organized the event.

“We are so grateful to the community for coming together to help such a great person and family,” organizer Sandra Espinosa said.

Those who wish to donate to Maddry can do so through her GoFundMe page. Search for her name at gofundme.com.
