Comanche Pow Wow this weekend

Comanche will be hosting its 42nd annual Pow Wow this weekend in Comanche City Park, Sept. 23-24.

Pow Wow tickets are $5 per day, per person with kids five and under getting free admission. Most children’s activities are also free.

The event will include Native American performances hosted by Larry Liles of the Comanche nation including Native American dances, songs, and a variety of vendors showcasing Native American crafts and cuisine.

There will be a variety of vendors and food trucks on site to satisfy cravings.

Entertainment will include a petting zoo, pony rides, Gator Country, bounce houses, a mechanical bull, rock climbing wall, ax throwing, live music, a mustang horse demonstration and ag days at the Pow Wow.

There will also be the 42nd annual Barnie McBee BBQ Cookoff, an art show, a photography show, car, tractorandmotorcycleshow, a cornhole tournament on Sunday with cash prizes, the 2nd annual Beat the Heat Pepper Eating Contest and concerts featuring Zak Webb on Sunday.

Gates open 10 a.m. on Saturday through 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. on Sunday.
