Comanche Museum hosts summertime activities

The Comanche County Museum recently held a slew of summertime events with more on the horizon.

Museum staff enjoyed the Boykin Family Reunion members who visited the Museum June 19- 20.

Organizers also said they had a wonderful Art Show from June 12-26.

The museum was open on Saturday, July 4 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the Bridges lit up for America250.

Cookies and Firecracker punch was served.

The ladies who are Friends of the Museum were invited to an afternoon tea time at the museum for tea, cookies and candy on Thursday, July 9 from 2-3:30 p.m.

The public is invited to a Family Game Day at the Museum from 4:306:30 p.m. Thursday, July 23. There are board games, card games for kids and adults.

The public is cordially invited to Kid's Day at the Museum from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1.

The museum staff is also welcoming the Cunningham Family Reunion.

This year they are Celebrating the life of Robert T. Hill, Father of Texas Geology who came to Comanche in 1874. He studied rocks and fossils. His ashes were scattered on Round Mountain in 1941 per his request.
