Brown Bags of Hope now on sale Looking for a simple way to make a big impact in your community this holiday season? Brookshire Brothers, a Lufkin-based employee owned grocery chain, makes it easy for you to play a part in the fight against food insecurity. For just $10, Brookshire Brothers customers can purchase a Brown Bag of Hope containing enough shelf-stable products to feed a family of four.

The stores then redistribute the bags to local schools, nonprofits, and others within the communities.

Comanche to offer free ice skating Comanche will be offering a free synthetic ice rink for the community and visitors to enjoy for free inside the Community Center.

Ice skates will be provided for all skaters.

The skating rink is open from 5 - 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23.

If there are crowds, ice skating will be broken up into 30-minute increments to allow everyone the chance to ice skate.

Light show available in Comanche A synchronized light show is available in downtown Comanche throughout the holiday season. Visitors can tune their radio station to 87.9 radio to hear music that accompanies the lights.
