Rodeo Museum serving up fundraiser

Dublin Rodeo Heritage Museum has set Friday, Oct. 16 as the date for a drive-thru lunch as a fundraiser.

The lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the rear door of the Museum on North Park and will consist of a pulled pork sandwich, macaroni salad and beans with tea. Cost is $10.

Members of the board will also deliver.

Comanche auction underway

The 16th annual auction as a fundraiser for the Comanche County Healthcare Foundation is now underway. However, this year it is a virtual auction on www. comanchechf.org with more than 110 items listed to be bid on.

The auction ends Saturday night, Sept. 19 and items can be picked up at the merchant who donated the item or at the front of the Comanche County Medical Center on Highway 16 between DeLeon and Comanche.

Items listed include many gift certificates and a zero turn mower and a helicopter hog hunt as well as feed items and a guided fishing trip at Lake Proctor.

The fundraiser this year is being termed 20-20, A Vision for the Future.

In the past 14 years, the Foundation’s fundraisers have brought in more than $900,000 to go toward purchase of items to help with patient care.

This year, proceeds will go toward purchase of items for the surgical suite including equipment for sterilization and anesthesia.

In addition, this year the staff on Wednesday, Sept. 16th,was fed a catered meal in appreciation for all their work during this pandemic. The meal was catered by LIttlejohns.

Cross Timbers Republican Women to meet today

The Cross Timbers Republican Meetings are now being held every month on the 3rd Thursday.

Their next meeting will be held Thursday (Sept. 17) at 11:30 a.m. at the Agave’s City Hall in Stephenville. Guest speakers at this meeting will be Jody Rushton and Corrine Miklosh.

These ladies represent the National Federation of Republican Women and Texas Federation of Republican Women. They will speak to the group about how to make a difference in the upcoming elections.
