This year will mark the 24th Annual Holiday Classic Beef, Lamb, Goat and Swine Clinic and Prospect Show. This year’s Holiday Classic will be November 5-6th, at the Belton County Expo in Belton.
The barns open at 6 a.m. and all livestock need to be in the barn by 11 a.m.
The Holiday Classic Clinics and Prospect Shows are intended to provide an educational opportunity for new families (4-H & FFA) participating in the livestock project area. The main purpose is to teach the basic principles of livestock management as they relate to facility maintenance, selection, nutrition, animal health, handling, showmanship, and transportation.
The Holiday Classic is open to all 4-H and FFA youth. It is excellent training and best of all there is no charge for attending. Please give us a call if you have questions.
This year’s Southwest Dairy Day will be held in Scotland, Scotland Texas that is on Thursday, October 20th. The day will begin at 8 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. and the KC Hall will be the primary location for events.
Tours will be held at Hemmi Dairy, Vieth Dairy and Wolf’s Legendairy. These tours will offer a look at the newest in dairy technology.
With tours at 3 dairies this will be an especially interesting dairy day. As usually there will be great guest speakers, booth and equipment displays and 2 DOPA credits will be offered.
