Well, it is that time of year again, Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner.

Despite the recent and perhaps ongoing tough times everyone has experienced, we all still have lots to be thankful for and lots to celebrate. One of the very best ways to celebrate theholidaysisbyentertaining with great holiday dishes and treats. We will once again be hosting the Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Fair. This year we are spicing things up with a very exciting program geared toward entertaining family and friends. The event will be held on Friday, November 4th at the DeLeon City Auditorium from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

The program will include a class and demonstration on making “Holiday Charcuterie Boards”.

We will also have a Charcuterie Board Contest with a prize for the winner. Afterwards, things will get even more interesting with a wine pairing and tasting demonstration and discussion. Mrs. Amy O’Brian-Glenn, Family and Consumer Science Agent in Eastland County, and Mrs. Andrea Brooks, Family and Consumer Science Agent from Erath County, will be talking about and demonstrating making charcuterie boards. They will also assist in judging the boards brought by participants. We will also have wine connoisseurs from Brennan Vineyard leading the wine pairing and tasting demonstration, yes there will be a limited amount of wine from Brennan Winery to practice your newly learned skills on.

We are encouraging attendees is to bring a holiday charcuterie board for judging or individual samples of their favorite holiday treat or snack to share with everyone. Everyone that brings a holiday charcuterie board or holiday food sample will have a table to display their treats on.

There is no charge for the event, and everyone is welcome. We request you give us a call if you plan to attend, especially if you plan to bring food, that way we will be sure we have enough tables for everyone to display their creations.
