The Farm and Ranch CEU Program gives you an opportunity to get lots of CEU’s in one day. The program will be held on Thursday, December 8th, 2022, at the DeLeon City Auditorium. This seminar will offer eight (8) CEU’s for the private applicator license and certificate holders. The approved credit hours are: four (3) General, two (2) Laws and Regulation, one (2) IPM and one (1) drift hours. Commercial and non-commercial license holders will be able to obtain all their needed hours for license renewal with the first 5 hours of the program.

The morning session will meet commercial applicators requirements for the year and offer 1 general, 1 IPM, 1 drift and 2 L&R. It will run from 7:30 until 1:00 PM and will have the following speakers and topics.

“Pasture Management and Drought Recovery” Dr. Larry Redmon, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. TDA Laws and Regulations update, Dr. Don Renchie, AgriLife Extension. “Drift & How to Do Your Part”, Dr. Ben McKnight, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. “TDA Laws & Regulations Compliance” Elizabeth Prokop, TDA. “An IPM Approach to Insect Management in Forages”, Dr. David Kerns, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Specialist.

The second half of the program will offer an additional 3 CEU’s, 2 general,1 IPM and offer the following speakers and topics.

External Parasite Control in Livestock, Dr. Sonja Swiger, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. Alternative Herbicides for Weed Control in Pastures”, Dr. Scott Nolte, AgriLife Extension. ID and Management of Insects in Trees and Drought Stress Recovery, Dr. David Appel.

This year’s program will be held at the DeLeon City Auditorium, 125 S Texas St, De Leon, TX 76444. The cost of registration is $60, which includes lunch. Doors will open at 7AM with program starting at 7:30AM. Everyone is welcome to stay for just the morning session or for the whole day. 8 CEU’s in one day makes for a very long day, come prepared for a lot of sitting and maybe bring a seat cushion. The program will be offered with speakers live via internet, but speakers will not be on the premises. To help us with the meal count we do ask that you RSVP by Monday, December 5th. Summit

This year we are fortunate to be hosting the Central Texas Irrigation Summit here in Comanche County on December 13th. We have worked with agriculture producers and extension agriculture committees to put together an excellent agenda with some of the top industry irrigation specialist presenting. The program will also include a trade show representing irrigation installers and companies. The program will be held on at the DeLeon City Auditorium in DeLeon, TX and will begin at 8:30 and run approximately until 4:00.

This will be an in-depth irrigation program and modest trade show. Topics covered will include new technology for Central Texas producers, irrigation research, pivot safety, managing salinity and poor water quality, chemigation, irrigating forages and more. We have the leading researchers and scientist in their fields covering these topics.

If you irrigate or ever plan to irrigate you will want to get this program on your calendar. This will be a great opportunity to learn the latest in irrigation technology and visit with irrigation businesses and dealers that can help you with your irrigation needs.
