6-24-20: Active cases increase to 77
Erath County Judge Alfonso Campos and Local Public Health Authority, Dr. Jeffery Moore received confirmation of 4 positive COVID-19 results Wednesday June 24, 2020. The people live in the County and are in isolation. These cases along with the Stephenville City cases brings the Erath County total to 100 positive cases. There are 77 active cases as of the June 24 report.
The increase follows a trend in Central Texas and around the state. The latest numbers indicate most of the positive cases have come from the 20-29 age group.
With more activities being held, please remember to minimize your exposure. This is especially important for people who are 65 years of age or older or who have underlying health conditions like heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, high blood pressure or cancer. People with these conditions are at higher if they do get COVID-19, and the safest thing for them during an outbreak will be to stay home as much as possible and minimize close contact with other people.
City and County Emergency Managers, Local Officials and the Local Health Authorities monitor the infections and overall situation constantly. County officials report their main concern is for the public health and safety of Erath residents.
