Love Run set for Feb. 11

The 5th Annual Love Run 5k and Mile Fun Run is set for Saturday, Feb. 11 by the Dublin Public Library with registration/check-in from 8 a.m.-8:45 a.m.

The annual event benefits Transformation Pathway, Dublin’s local Christian Women’s/Men’s Job Corps ministry.

Transformation Pathway’s vision is to make a positive impact on our community by offering a new pathway to reduce spiritual and economic poverty through mentoring, relationships, job preparedness and life skills, while teaching God’s word.

“The run benefits the job skills classes,” said volunteer Barbara Yoder, who added the event offers an extra way for them get involved with the community. “We really want to promote healthy lifestyles and stay connected to the community.”

Those registering for the 5K by Tuesday, Feb. 1 can save some cash and get a special commemorative T-shirt. Pre-registration fees are $25 for adults and $20 for runners 17 and under. After Feb. 1, the price increases to $30 for adults and $25 for runners 17 and younger.

Awards will be given to the top three male and female runners overall and in several age divisions.

Registration for the fun run/walk is free. Medals will be provided to all fun run participants.(No shirts will be given in the fun run.)

The 5k will start at 9 a.m. on race day followed by the fun run at 9:15 a. m.

Packets can be picked up at the CWJC Will Do Good Thrift Market (106 N. Patrick) on Friday, Feb. 10 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
